Australia’s first carbon neutral full service lender has thrown their support behind Hot Women in an effort to reduce carbon emissions and the affects of climate change.
New to Australia, the Hot Women campaign which is run by the Global Warming Alliance is focused on empowering women to cut CO2 emissions through making simple energy saving changes around the home and by doing something most women love to do – shop.
Hot Women is the brain child of environmental and humanitarian campaigner Louise Burfitt-Dons. The name of the organization maybe a play on words, but the message is important and clear. Louise says, “The initiative has raised a few eyebrows but that is all about getting the campaign noticed. Statistics show women make the majority of decisions on what energy appliances to buy for the home.”
Burfitt-Dons has noticed other campaigns to reduce carbon emissions have been unsuccessful and another approach was needed. Louise adds, “I think women are backing us because they see it as a moderate campaign - some campaigns can be seen to be too aggressive.”
After reading about Hot Women recently, Wilson National Communications Director Gordon Watson was impressed. Gordon says, “Hot Women and Wilson National have a common goal, and that is to reduce carbon emissions. Louise is an amazing woman who has campaigned against bullying in the UK as well as climate change, and as soon as I found there was a Hot Women group in Australia I wanted Wilson National to show their support.”
“Climate change is something that will affect all humans, and it is no surprise to me to see women taking the lead – if only there were Hot Men to take up the challenge,” Gordon adds.
All Wilson National loans are carbon neutral and are accredited through the Carbon Reduction Institute in Sydney. And members of Hot Women will receive a 0.25% p.a. discount off our already carbon neutral standard variable home loan rates.
